Build Stronger, More Meaningful Communication with Your Child: One Day at a Time

A supportive 4-week communication course where expert guidance and AI work together, offering families clarity, reflection, and support in real-life moments, with human oversight at every step.

Led by Dr. Sharon Gainforth, PhD, Speech-Language Pathologist with 35+ years of clinical expertise in neurodevelopment and family support.

Why this course?

Supporting communication isn’t a straight line — and that’s completely normal.

When communication feels hard, it’s often not about effort. It’s about finding strategies that fit real life.

Many families don’t need more to learn. They need support that feels clear, practical, and pressure-free.

This course was created for that place — where care, intention, and daily life come together.

This course is designed to walk alongside you — offering clarity, encouragement, and practical guidance as you support your child’s communication in ways that feel natural and doable.

A Supportive Blend of Human Guidance and Helpful Tools

This course combines live, human guidance with simple tools that support you between sessions. Between meetings, you’ll have gentle support that helps you:

  • Pause and reflect — without needing to do things “perfectly”
  • Notice patterns across everyday moments
  • Keep learning going in ways that feel manageable, not overwhelming
  • The technology stays in the background.
You — and your relationship with your child — are always at the center.

Your 4-week guided journey

The course includes a total of 4 live sessions, held once per week (90 minutes each), allowing time for discussion, real-life examples, and hands-on practice.

Session 1: Join Their World

Connection comes before words. What if communication didn’t start with getting your child to do or say something — but with stepping into what they’re already doing?

In Join Their World, parents learn how connection grows by watching, joining, and talking about what their child already loves. Parents learn a simple strategy to promote their child’s communication. It can be used immediately — right in the everyday moments that already exist. Parents practice the strategy using Allie, a built-in communication guide that offers gentle, step-by-step support.

Session 2: Say What They Want to Say

What if communication is about being understood — at every stage, not just with words?

In Say What They Want to Say, parents learn how to recognize and respond to their child’s communication across all stages — from gestures and actions to words and early conversations. This session helps you interpret what your child is trying to express, respond in ways that support growth, and reduce frustration for both you and your child.

Session 3: Let’s Play!

Play is how connection comes to life.

What if play wasn’t about toys — but about connection?

In Let’s Play!, parents learn how everyday play and routines can become powerful opportunities for communication. This session focuses on understanding your child’s sensory preferences, why people can be the most meaningful “toy,” and how simple daily routines create natural moments for connection. Parents learn how to turn ordinary activities into shared experiences that invite interaction — without pressure or performance. Parents practice turning play and routines into communication moments using Allie, a built-in guide that offers gentle, step-by-step support.

Session 4: Bring on the Friends!

Friendship grows from supported play.

What if friendship didn’t start with “social skills” — but with supported, shared play?

In Bring on the Friends!, parents learn how to gently expand their child’s play to include communication and peers. This session focuses on how peer play develops over time, what makes early conversations work, and how to set up successful playdates that feel positive — not stressful. Parents gain clear, practical guidelines for supporting friendships in ways that match their child’s current stage. Parents practice expanding play and social moments using Allie, a built-in guide that offers gentle, step-by-step support.

2. Why this course is different?

Many programs are designed to focus on behaviour change. This course takes a different approach, one that centers on building a supportive communication environment, where relationships, everyday routines, and responsive interactions work together. You’ll be supported as you build communication with your child, in everyday moments that already exist.

Research shows that when parents receive meaningful, ongoing support, children are more likely to make lasting gains in communication and regulation: in ways that carry over into daily life.

With this course, you’ll benefit from:

  • Evidence-informed strategies translated into everyday family moments
  • Live guidance with time to apply, reflect, and ask questions
  • A supportive parent group learning alongside you
  • A fully online experience that’s flexible, accessible, and human

3. How does technology support me between sessions?

Between live sessions, BRIDGES Engage gives you access to Allie, our AI-powered coaching tool designed to support (never replace) human care. With Allie, you can practice communication prompts in real time, record reflections in a secure digital journal, and receive personalized insights based on patterns, not labels. Privacy and safety come first. All data is handled using clinical-grade security and responsible AI principles.

4. What if I miss a session?

No worries — you can catch up.
Session resources are available if you need to miss a week.

Think of this course as parent support, not treatment. It focuses on empowering you with tools and confidence to support your child’s communication in everyday life.

6. Will this work if my child is non-verbal / minimally verbal?

7. Is this course individualized to my family?

The course is designed to be flexible and personalized to your family.
While the sessions are taught in a group format, you’ll be encouraged to apply each strategy to your own child, routines, and real-life moments. Guided practice and reflection help you tailor what you learn to what works best for your family.
